Washer works but is old and goes out of balance fairly frequently (bang, bang, bang, bang). Dryers (2) are pretty well kaput although who knows? Anyway free for the taking. Sitting on sidewalk at northwest corner of 38th and Raymond. I contacted the one guy on CL who said he was a scrapper in West Seattle but he said less than 500 lbs. is too little… If anyone knows a local scrapper send them my way. If not gone in a few days I will take them to the transfer station. (Neighbors don’t fret too much!) Thanks.

I have a 24″ Tappan gas range sitting in my carport. It works fine with one caveat – the igniter doesn’t work on the oven so has to be manually lit from the broiler drawer below. If anyone is interested email ff_bjk at yahoo dot com.

I went with this guy because he picks up stuff by appointment and not just what he sees or can get away with:

Plus, he attempts to fix the appliances that are salvageable. That’s not the case with the early ’80’s washing machine the previous owner left behind but it might be the case with your gas range. He also attempts to minimize his gasoline use by going on a planned route instead of just driving around.

He’s making a pickup from me in the North Admiral area this morning- perhaps he can also make it to your place since he will be in West Seattle.

There were some guys a while back in West Seattle called Green Guys Recycling – they picked up metal things at no charge, if I recall correctly.
