cjboffoliParticipantI posted a request a few months back looking for recommendations on an air conditioning installer. No one answered, leading me to believe that the myth that you don’t need A/C in Seattle is popular in these here parts. However, I thought I’d post the results of my extensive and successful search for an installer in the event that there are some other candy asses (like me) or people with lots of glass and a southern exposure (me also) who might benefit from this info. After lots of interviews and bids, the best two installers I found were John Archer at Northwest Energy (425) 774-8592 and Rich at Fast Heating and Air conditioning (425).454.1444 (www.fastheatingandair.com). I ended up going with John Archer’s company because I could tell from the very first conversation that he was meticulous and had great attention to detail. He saw that I lived in a Modern house and was very sensitive about the aesthetics and innovative about some of the space and design challenges. His services weren’t cheap. But his guys did a marvelous job installing an LG mini-split central air conditioning system.

emilyavictorMemberCentral air conditioning in Seattle has been such a hot topic and very controversial. Central air is a necessity if you want to maintain a constant temperature with minimal fluctuations. It is best to do research and talk to experts in the AC business to make informed decisions. Central air may not be what is best for your home. There may be another alternative such as the mini split system.
