KimberleyParticipantWTF? I came across this on facebook (a friend heavily involve in a mini aussie rescue in NC posted it). Apparently there’s a feral cat hunt going to several cities, one being Vancouver, WA.
I’m sickened by this and have no idea whether it’s a hoax.

JoBParticipanti sincerely hope this is someone’s idea of a sick joke

furryfacesParticipantWe believe, (and certainly hope), it’s a ‘only’ a sick hoax but are checking on it:
We have:
1) called the phone number on FB twice. The first time it was busy. The second time it rang and rang (for over 2 minutes)–no one answered; voice mail did not pick up; finally it disconnected.
2) emailed Alley Cat Allies–a national organization that would know about this.
Perhaps FAF or FCAT have some info in it?

WednesdayMemberInteresting.. I googled the phone#785-273-0325 (listed as the contact# for Wildlife Connect International on their Facebook page) and it came up as belonging to Westboro Baptist Church.. what a bunch of quacks!!

furryfacesParticipantGood research Wednesday.
For some reason this FB ‘flyer’ looks very familiar to us and seems to have been debunked in the past. However, to ease people’s minds, we will share Alley Cat Allies response when we get it,(which may take awhile as they are a National Organization who gets hundreds of inquiries).

WSBKeymasterUnless I just have a permissions problem under multiple log-in conditions – this link appears to not be working, so wanted to say that before too much more energy has been expended… TR

furryfacesParticipantThanks WSB. Looks like FB Adm has already debunked it and confirmed is is as a sick joke (as we thought)>

furryfacesParticipantAlley Cat Allies has confirmed:
Dear Furry Faces,
Thank you for contacting us and sharing this information. We welcome any information whether it’s articles, books, and/or media sources from individuals such as yourself.
Intentionally killing a cat is a criminal offense in all 50 states and the District of Columbia and anti-cruelty laws apply to all cats—pet, stray, and feral.
It appears as though the primary purpose of the Wildlife Connect page is to upset animal lovers: it posts emotionally charged photos and graphics, and share articles from a radical, faux news site. Feel free to report the page to Facebook.
Thank you again for your commitment to the cats and please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any additional questions or concerns.
Sincerely,
Crystal Suarez
