DelredMemberI see that the opening is set for Saturday – what time? And what will the opening event entail?

DianeParticipantwhere do you see this listed; I would also love to have detailed info on this event; anyone have a weblink?

flowerpetalMemberThe Longhouse opening is set for this Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until noon. That’s about all I know. The Duwamish website is not updated regularly. There is nothing there to indicate the opening.
That website is http://www.duwamishtribe.org

herongrrrlParticipantI checked their website, but didn’t see anything about the opening. I found this, though: http://www.realchangenews.org/2008/2008_12_23/main_v15n53.html

WSBKeymasterWhere did the 10 am Saturday info come from?
I literally tried for WEEKS to get info on this – it originally was scheduled for a date last month, according to one small shred of info we saw on somebody’s site somewhere.
So – before, and even during, that day: We went by, called, e-mailed. No reply. Asked people who would otherwise be in the know. They had no idea, except hearsay that it had been postponed due to some problems wrapping up the project.
This is obviously an event we will cover and I’d like to be able to include it in our various calendars so others will know too … if it’s some supersecret newsletter or some other advisory (there are still a few media-advisory lists we are not on DESPITE fervent efforts) please e-mail me at
I appreciate the help.

WSBKeymasterSorry, I should have noted here too, I got the info several hours ago from James Rasmussen, who is director of the Longhouse and Cultural Center. It’s now on the WSB Events calendar too (and we posted it to the home page). We’ll be there!
