I live across the street from a drainage ditch that has needed to be cleared since before the city was working on our street some six years ago.
I have been trying for the last 5 years or so to get them up here to clear this ditch. I’ve been fobbed off with a host of excuses, many of which I’ve since learned are commonly given to people like me, who request that work be done.
I’ve been in contact with several people at SPU, and have written Herbold for help. So far, it would appear the city has no intention of maintaining the ditch, despite the fact that it’s their job to do so.
I have already spent upwards of 6K trying to manage the additional water flowing onto my property, and I’ve lost two trees. The neighbors downstairs has flooded, and I’ve fallen in my driveway twice, slipping in the silt.
    Any advice?

Send an email to Deputy Mayor David Moseley (David.Moseley@seattle.gov) and cc SPU GM Mami Hara (Mami.Hara@seattle.gov). If that doesn’t work, reach out to Herbold’s office to meet with them directly, and have Herbold email those same people after your conversation. Good luck!
