BarbGMemberHi, not sure if this has been asked yet, I would like to find a new doctor. I’m currently going to Seattle WS, but for the most part I’m tired of the treatment from the staff. I would like to find someplace that has pleasant people that want to help. Thanks

AimParticipantI have the BEST doctor on earth, but she is in Madison Valley (on Madison by the arboretum entrance)
Her name is Lisa Davison, and she is at Middleway Medicine.
I’ve told at least 3 previous doctors (2 GPs and a couple of specialists) that I felt something was “off” and could they check my vitamin levels, for about 6 years now. Everyone did a CBC and called it good.
This doctor immediately, without my even mentioning the feeling that something wasn’t right, tested vitamin and nutrient levels along with the CBC. She also added tests for hormone levels and thyroid function based on my reporting that i have to eat 800 calories a day to lose weight and no more than 1200 to maintain. Her first words were “that is NOT a normal metabolism!” Other doctors had questioned my truthfulness, accused me of not knowing how much I was eating (I log it at fitday.com) etc.
Well lo and behold, the tests came back that my vitamin D levels were nearly undetectable, and my free testosterone was high, and my thyroid wasn’t functioning correctly. Go figure… She immediately put me on therapeutic doses of vitamin D, which makes a world of difference!
After only my first visit, the receptionist remembers me if I call, and asks how I’m doing. The office is also online, so you can email her if you have a non-urgent issue or question.
I cannot recommend her any more highly.

BarbGMemberAwesome, thanks AIM, I will look into her. I don’t go to the doctor often, but when I do I don’t want to get barked at by the front desk staff, or rushed through my time with the doctor.

AnonymousInactiveWhat type of doctor are you looking for? I just switched to my husbands doctor for my complete exams, doctors name is Michael Kovar he is with Swedish Hospital but is located on California Ave. He is super nice, the office staff are very professional but very friendly and polite. I also switched our kids to him as he is a family doctor.

AimParticipantBarb, She also gives you a FULL hour. She puts it “this is your hour, you’re paying for it. How would you like to spend it?” So you can ask her about ANYTHING you might have wondered about. She’s simply awesome. I have to see my doc a lot, due to medical issues I have, so I am really picky about having a good one.

SueParticipantAim, I have a similar doctor, which is why I’m willing to travel to Mukilteo to see her. It’s definitely worth the trip to be treated like that. They think I’m crazy to travel (I used to live in Lynnwood, which is how I originally found her), but I told her that she doesn’t know how rare and valuable she is and is definitely worth the trip.

AimParticipantSue good doctors are not easy to come by. I recommend mine right and left, and will choose insurance based on whether she can remain my doctor…
