JustSarahParticipantI was shocked when I went out to dinner at a local restaurant and heard all these clinking noises from other tables. The restaurant served their food on earthenware plates and gave patrons metal utensils with which to eat. You can bet I’ll never go back there! I’ll only eat at restaurants that serve customers gruel from a feedbag; then silence can be ensured!
Must perfect my personal “cone of silence” so I need never again be bothered by any noises made by others…
(Tongue-in-cheek post inspired by the earlier “rant” about popcorn served in paper bags, in case it wasn’t clear.)

ZenguyParticipantLol, it was clear. But as stated before, did you address your concerns with the restaurant?

JustSarahParticipantZenguy, I believe I made clear my unhappiness when I plugged my ears with my fingers and simply lowered my face to lap up my soup.

flowerpetalMemberLove it SarahScoot! Admittedly you had me when I first started reading. In my head I was already composing a reply to rant about the immature and overused “WTF.” Thanks for the laugh.

charlabobParticipantGreat satire, SS — I actually didn’t read because of your alluring headline. Just couldn’t face it after the cat/bird wars and the antiunion rants.
Thank you!

cclarueMemberI love it. I was thinking of ranting about the steel mill needing a paint job or maybe just getting rid of it and the unsightly port because they are tarnishing our gateway into West Seattle!! Can’t they just plant some pretty trees there instead???

JustSarahParticipantcclarue: I think they should just convert it to a puppies and rainbows factory. Adorable!

cclarueMemberSarahScoot, The problem with puppies is that they bark, that could be too much noise. Would they be on or off leash? We should substitute puppies for unicorns!! I don’t think unicorns have any bad habits in fact I don’t even think they poop!! So no poo to scoop. (and just for the record I have a dog who is never in public without a leash:) he isn’t well trained or well behaved enough for me to even have to think about whether there would be a situation where I may want to let him off leash)
