mellaw6565MemberJoB – have you ever wondered why there is only one smurfette, one Papa smurf and a whole lot of other boys smurfs? hmmmm……. That’s the kind of thinking that smoking weed fosters:)

CaitParticipantMellaw – I’m always fascinated by how many people have PCOS. I think we need a support group. I was just diagnosed last year and it’s been quite the eye opening experience.

mellaw6565MemberYes – the practicioners at the Diabetes Center at UW are almost experts about it themselves since they see so many women with the two.
I’ve been living with it since I was 12 – almost 30 years now. It’s supposedly inherited from your mother’s side.
Ok….. back to the Red vs. Blue – I for one won’t miss anything on the East Coast except for bagels, good Jewish delis and Florida Stonecrab; can we include Chicago as part of the Blue region so I can keep Chicago style hot dogs? After all, it is Obama’s area. And Chicagoans are usually pretty nice people.

flipjackParticipantI can see the DEA Hummer at the next WSB meetup now. :-)

RSMemberUm, hello, Massachusetts is totally a blue state!! That means the Berkshires, Red Sox (and NO Tampa Bay, thank you very much), Cape Cod, Tom Brady’s ruined knee, the original rock our country was “founded” on, and some of the funniest accents this side of the Atlantic.
NC could be a stretch, but they are getting better. If you’re bored with the War for the White House, check out some of the races in NC. Elizabeth Dole could be about to lose her senate seat and the governor’s race is also very close. My conservative NC family members have informed me that they just aren’t voting this year, which is a very good sign!

JoBParticipantIf the polls are correct.. we even get to keep virginia.. which is good because it would pain me to loose my daughter who is studying there.

charlabobParticipantWilliam Weld, a former R governor of Massachusetts, endorsed Obama today. He was a former supporter of Mittens. Anyone else old enough to remember when R wasn’t terminally associated with venal selfishness?
Ed Brooks was the first black senator since reconstruction — also an R and also from Mass. Turns out he had a long-term “relationship” with Barbara Walters, according to Barbara Walters. Who knew we had Perez Hilton Moments way back then. :-)
PS — RS, I do NOT have a funny accent; the rest of you do. But I only lived there for 22 years — maybe you have to be born to it.

RSMemberCharla- I wasn’t around for Weld, but I did get to elect Deval Patrick!! I love the accent and wish there were more people who thought things were wicked pissah. My husband is a born and raised Masshole, but the accent only comes out for him after quite a few beeeahs. :)

LightsOutMemberSure are a lot of Al Qaeda dead in Iraq for none of them being there. Keep believing that bull.
By the way just want to ask all of the gay marriage supporters on this site, what’s up with your guy? He can’t even support the cause. What a fraud.
New Obama motto:
Barack Obama, he’ll sell anyone down the river for a homophobic vote.
this message approved by tolerant candidates against tolerance.

ZenguyParticipantSupporting marriage equality on a national level at this point is political death, I get that and it will just take time.
Your posts make little sense???

angelescrestParticipantNice, measured response to a bullying post, Zen. “All you gay measure supporters”. Oh, yeah, you can count me in–while I discount your snide disapproval.

AnonymousInactiveHey lightsout, what’s up with your guy? Does he support everything you believe? And just want to ask, how would know? He changes his mind between lunch and his nap. What a fraud.
October 25, 2008 at 6:46 am #644457
LightsOutMemberThe only thing that doesn’t make sense is Obama/Biden and their gay marriage stance. Are you saying they support it but couldn’t get elected if they said it out loud?
That’s not change, that’s more of the same.
October 25, 2008 at 7:01 am #644458
AnonymousInactiveLightsout, many people believe all couples should be subject to a civil union enforced by the state, and marriage should be a ceremony performed by your religious flavor if you choose. We are talking about a legal contract after all. Obama supports civil unions, McCain does not. Bush did not. Therefore, Obama would be change, McCain would be the same. Anything else bothering you besides gay rights?
October 26, 2008 at 1:18 am #644459
JoBParticipantLightsout…
this disucussion goes beyond gay and straight…
what about a single mom and/or dad bringing up a child with their single mom and/or dad?
Shouldn’t they have the same legal and financial benefits of any other couple bringing up a child?
what if the grandma isn’t related to the single mom/dad?
what if the grandma isn’t even related to the other parent?
We give a lot of benefits to married couples that we don’t give to anyone else who is raising children..
yet those who are unconventional parents are facing the same challenges as conventional parents… and are growing exponentially in numbers.
Think about it. who is going to raise the children of all the soldiers killed in Iraq?
there is far too much inequality in the system that has little to do with who one chooses as a sexual partner.
Obama does support the kind of changes that would help both conventional and unconventional parents…
and that’s a good thing.

beachdrivegirlParticipantLIghtsout you have never responded to my post on page two? Would you like to do that?? or have you not followed your candidates campaign enough to know why you do support him?
