I’m getting my 1st dose of the Covid vaccine today Pfizer and I am a person that can’t take anything prescribed or not without getting ill or side effects from it and was wondering if anyone like me has gotten the vaccine and made it thru it OK after getting it?
I’m nervous about this and not from the needle part of it just the unknown… any encouragement would help!

Got my 1st Pfizer shot 2 weeks ago today. It was a little tender where the needle went in. My arm was a little sore, but not enough to stop my everyday activities. After @30 hours after the shot arm felt completely normal. I had NO other side effects.

Thank you CarDriver… I’m just worried that my body is going to reject it like every other med I had to take for some reason or another. Fingers crossed on this one!

I got the vaccine and so far so good, arm is a little sore like you mentioned but otherwise GOOD!

I’ve heard the 2nd dose puts you down for 24 hours so you and I will see once we get it.
Thanks CarDriver for your input and concerns.

A tip a friend shared is to go into 2nd vaccine well hydrated. It worked for her – little to no side effects. My 2nd is in 2 1/2 weeks, hoping it works for me too.

Franci. Thanks for that tip. I’m setting aside the afternoon just in case but hope not to need it. My older sisters and their husbands have had both shots-Moderna & Pfizer and other than slightly sore arms they had no side effects. No matter what, the relief(and luck) of having navigated the appointment system and being protected will be FAR greater than any discomfort!!

I got my first shot four days ago and felt pretty tired day of. Not sick, just sleepy. But that could have been due to other factors (like work fatigue), it’s hard to say. I’m someone who sometimes feels crummy after my flu shot. The vaccine shot left less of a sore arm and fewer side effects than a flu shot – for me.

I realize you’ve had your shot by now, and I hope you’ll update us. I am leaving my comment on case it helps anyone else.

MercyMoi, I am doing well but like I mentioned upthread the 2nd may be a different story…we will see.
    Thank you for asking

Got my 2nd(Pfizer)shot 2 day’s ago. 1st day felt great, arm pain was less than 1st shot. Yesterday woke up feeling a little achy and got a slight headache and fever. Didn’t need to take any otc’s. Laid low all day(could have gone to work)Woke up today feeling fine. Hardest part of all this was trying to get an appointment for the 1st shot!

Hi all worried folks. My ENT advised to begin taking extra strength Tylenol when I got home. One every 6 hrs for the first 24-36 hrs. For me it worked. Just very slight headache. I too was apprehensive. You will be fine.

I had my second Moderna shot Saturday. A little body ache and headache through Sunday. Monday morning I feel fine.

Thank you to all of you with your words of encouragement and confidence for me I’ll let you know how it goes! :>)
Little bit of humor for you all…I’m 65 and have never had a Flu Shot or the flu so this is why the Covid Vaccine was such a scare for me!

I said I’d update on how my 2nd Pfizer vaccine went and it didn’t go well for me. Got it at 3:30 on Wednesday felt good until around 8:00pm and then it hit my arm like I got hit with a sledgehammer the pain ran down from shoulder to hand and up my neck and into the ribcage area. UGH! Couldn’t sleep well from the pain even though I was taking Tylenol and drinking lots of water couldn’t eat and the smell of foods made my stomach turn. ugh again! Stayed in bed all day Thursday…Friday now, feel 85% better but still can’t eat stomach is still upset. I’ll get to 100% by tomorrow, hopefully.
As I mentioned upthread this is Waikikigirl…can never figure out how to log back onto the forums! LOL!

I recently got my first Moderna shot, I experienced a fair bit of soreness on the arm I got the jab and ran a 99.3F fever overnight. I took some DayQuil and felt a lot better the next day, and been on the up and up since. Hoping that my second shot isn’t as bad!
