Does anyone know of a coworking space in West Seattle, or of any that are planned? There are places like Office Nomads and other places in different parts of the city, but I’d love something like that right here in West Seattle. Are there other folks in West Seattle who work at home and would like to have share space to work in occasionally?

There’s an architect’s office, next to Westside Barber Shop on California, that has a desk/conference room access/Internet available, advertised via a window sign. I don’t remember the name of the office, but while it’s not an office full of coworking people, it’s in that vein.

mightymo – yep, thanks – I’ve walked past there a few times. I’m looking for something a bit less “regular” than a private desk. It seems I run in to quite a few people who work from home, but it seems the coworking places of choice are just coffee shops here in West Seattle.

The building on the east side of the new Admiral Safeway site was supposed to have flex-work spaces. The plan changed some months back to all apartments – supposedly the previous developer could not get funding for flex-work spaces. Bummed me out, personally, as I wouldn’t mind having a place to go on occasion that’s like Suite 133, operated by the folks behind Exit 133, a pioneering local-news site in Tacoma. Would set one up ourselves if we had the capital for it! – Tracy

Gene, what are you looking for and what are your needs? Some more information might be helpful.

Any recent updates on coworking space? I’d love to get into something in West Seattle, otherwise it looks like I’ll be heading to StartPad downtown.

HubSeattle is a bit closer than OfficeNomads, in Pioneer Square; they’re above the old Elliott Bay bookstore

I’m moving to West Seattle in a month and would also love to find a coworking space close by instead of downtown. I normally work from home but find I develop hermit tendencies. Any info on co working or shared space would be welcome.

I work from home and feel a little isolated

some times and not as motivated as working in an office with coworkers, so I visited existing coworking spaces in Seattle. Most of them are central or north and I don’t want to add a big commute to my day, so I would like to start one in West Seattle.

I would like to rent a house instead of an office, or start a group that meets for coworking sessions at coffee shops or members homes. For this purpose, I am currently looking for people that would also like to meet and use a space like this for part time, full time or drop-in.

I met with people that run coworking spaces all summer, compared notes and connected with a great girl that just started a coworking space for parents in Maple Leaf (Ellie’s). I would love to see one like this happening here.

If you are interested in a coworking space/group, please help me get some input, answer 10 questions and leave your email address in the survey:

    Takes about 5 minutes.

I know WSB is read by a lot of great community networkers, so I hope you can spread the word to designers, writers, entrepreneurs, developers, online crafts, architects, creative, and who else

    might be interested.
