KenParticipantIf you use my email (under my name above this post) I can advise you. If you want to post your problem here I (and others no doubt) can try and help you fix it your self.
If you are unemployed, on any sort of assistance or disabled or otherwise on a fixed income, I can do the work for free.
It looks like you just need advice from the info you have provided.
Wireless is easy but only if you understand the jargon and the fact that vendors want to make something that is inherently complex, look like it is easy by not including answers for all the things that can go wrong :)
Backup and transfer of data and Apps is possible but there are limitations based on hardware and software (especially if you are upgrading both the computer and the OS at the same time)
I work on windows and mac as well as bsd and linux. I am familiar with nearly all routers and access points (used in the last 20 years) even those the vendor calls “modems” even though there is no analog to digital modulation going on in them :)
I am not a commercial entity though so if you need somewhere you can get a bill to apply to B&O or small business tax write off, then try PCmobile who will probably pop up here in a couple of hours :)
my google voice number is 801-0349 or 8010fix
(It rings all the phones in the house) and I will give you my direct cell number.
