My mom and her SO are coming earlier than expected in the day on Christmas Eve to stay a few days. She thought it would be fun to get dressed up and go out in the city. I see the restaurant portion of the Holiday Guide isn’t up yet but I’m a planner by nature. Any ideas or favorites when you’ve had relatives from out of town staying? We did zoo lights in Portland when I visited them at Thanksgiving and it was tons of fun. I haven’t really stayed home at Christmas in the city since we usually visit relatives way outside of the city. No kids in this group so all ages or 21+ type things are all fine.

dinner? Kaspar’s always puts on a lovely buffet. I’ve never done Christmas Eve, but have done Thanksgiving, and Mother’s Day. Lovely seating, a fireplace, lots of good food.

it’s not in WS, but near Seattle Center on Queen Anne is not too far to go.And, yes, cocktails, too.

Oh good idea! I’ve been there once for a wedding and once for my previous employer’s holiday party long ago. Didn’t realize they also do dinners open to the public. Seattle Center is definitely a nice place to walk off dinner with the Christmas lights they do too.

Bump! We went with a PCC order since staying comfy at home with movies sounded really relaxing!

    How cool, tricky!

You’ll all be able to sit around barefoot, and although you won’t get waited on, and there will be some level of set-up/prep and clean up, you’ll be able to enjoy each others’ company, without the distraction of other Diners, and such.
