Child fold up wheelchair

my daughter took a horrible spill in a 3 wheel bike on alki and broke her leg…she is having issues with her mini crutches so..wondering if someone has a fold up wheelchair for rent or borrow or know where to rent one from? thanks….

I would suggest contacting her doctor or whoever it was that arranged for the crutches. They should have a short list of equipment vendors or medical supply stores that rent out items like wheelchairs. Your insurance may also cover the rental as a medical necessity–even though she has the crutches, she won’t be able to travel long distances with them.

Access Medical Equipment on Aurora. They will help you deal with the insurance and also will teach you how to “drive” her, and teach her how to properly and safely maneuver.

They do rentals and sales, and could not possibly be nicer people. Truly I cannot emphasize enough how amazing they are with their customer service, attention to detail and fitting, and all-around education when you need a medical device that’s unfamiliar to you.
