I was driving on the viaduct today, coming back to West Seattle, and 4 cars in front of me all had only one brake light working. Way too many cars in such a short period of time. Made me realize that since I normally drive alone, nobody is checking my lights either and they could be out for all I know. For our own safety and the safety of others, can we all take a minute to check that all the lights on our cars are working properly?

Sue.. you do know that if they check for burned out brake lights rear tail lights they would have to look for the burn out head lights…. and just to make us safe some would have too tighten the loose nut behind the wheel also…..lmao

Back in the early ’90’s, I was garage manager at the then new 2nd & Seneca Building.

Part of my daily routine, was once arriving there, to drive my ’67 Beetle through the entire garage, checking for dumped trash, or anything that seemed out of the ordinary.

Down at the very bottom of the garage, in the last parking stall, or two, or three, were some extra building windows leaning up against the wall, being stored. That was my turn around point, where I’d swing the car through a few empty stalls to make my U-Turn.

I made sure occasionally, to line the car up to where I could see the taillights in the glass, from my rear view mirror, and would tap the brakes a few times to check them. :-)

And while you’re at it, re-familiarize yourself with the turn signal lever. It’s that thing sticking out of the steering wheel column that prevents people from running into your lazy a$$. :-)

    Wake…just remember…Friday is Signals Optional Day…

Actually, I think one of my biggest pet peeves is being behind someone who stops at an intersection in front of me, and THEN turns on his left signal. It’s always a WTF moment…

    C’mon, you guys. Lighten up!

Be thankful we don’t live in Ballard:
