WalkerParticipantThis never happened. You did not sit there, watch this woman soil herself, and then wait the at least an hour for the police to show up, and not order anything.
The funny thing is you are all up in arms over the lack of public restrooms, but you will not let someone he your wifi. Really!?!
Another troll post from Jiggers.

TanDLParticipantI’ve been wondering about this post. What exactly did the police cite her for? And why would the business have her wait in their business for the police if she was soiled and smelling? There’s either more to this story or less.
August 7, 2012 at 6:35 pm #765787
LindseyParticipantWalker and TanDL – a police ticketing someone is going to be public information. That would be included in that day’s police report, so I’m sure we’ll be able to verify if this happened or not. I tend to agree with you, Walker. I don’t think this actually happened.
August 7, 2012 at 7:48 pm #765788
TanDLParticipantAh… good point Lindsey. Let’s see if we can come with something from SPD.

anonymeParticipantPublic urination is against the law. She could be cited for that theoretically, although I think it’s stupid given the circumstances. Whether it actually happened or not is another issue…

WalkerParticipantHey Ken. How about next time you are in a public bathroom, you clean it up. Next time you stop by a coffee house downtown, that is next to a bus stop, why don’t you take the time to clean it up. How about you take the time to dump the trash and hope there is not a junkie’s needle in there that is going to poke you. How about you wipe up the piss from the side of the toilet and the floor? OR the feces?
Then, let me use your bathroom with out paying you to clean it, or for the water or sewage bill just so you get an idea how that feels.

XXXMemberTotally agree this is a shady post. Would like a little more info (as other posters have suggested) to actually make this somewhat believable…
August 8, 2012 at 7:51 am #765792
EdSaneParticipantPersonally, I would have relieved myself on the side of the building (or front). Public urination is only a 37 dollar infraction. SPD has better things to do. However this incident occurred on private property. The offender was probably issued a trespass notice. Malicious mischief could apply but doubtful.

JoBParticipantWalker..
are you going to tell me that you don’t wipe down the toilet seat and the sink counter in public restrooms after using them?
please say it isnt’ so…
then again.. i more often than not find i have to do some basic housekeeping before i can use the facilities in public restrooms these days…
:(
August 9, 2012 at 4:51 am #765794
WalkerParticipantJob, sorry to break this to you, 99% of the folks that use a public restroom, don’t do either of those.
I have a condition that makes me have to use a toilet every 25-45 minutes. I use a lot of public toilets. I will at least buy something if I have to use a business toilet, even if they don’t require it. Unless it is a McDonald’s. I feel OK abusing that privilege.

JanSParticipantI’m thinking maybe we need to start our own list/website with the best public restrooms in West Seattle, their locations, etc….it would definitely be a great public service..
August 9, 2012 at 5:14 am #765796
WalkerParticipantThriftway would have to rank up on the top of the best.
Bars are the worst, but you expect that going in.
August 9, 2012 at 5:23 am #765797
JanSParticipantAdmiral Safeway isn’t too bad, either..Met Market, too…
August 9, 2012 at 5:38 am #765798
SueParticipantAh, but if we shared where the good bathrooms were, then they’d probably no longer be good. :)

JiggersMemberAsk George Costanza, he knows were the best bathrooms in the city are..
August 9, 2012 at 3:11 pm #765800
JoBParticipantWalker..
i use them a lot too…
and find myself doing a lot of cleaning both before and after :(
there are definately some things about the good old days that i miss
clean restrooms is one of them
August 9, 2012 at 4:11 pm #765801
JiggersMemberJoB.. As you know, I’d rather use the side trails in Lincoln Park before I am forced to have to use a Starbucks bathroom that has more bacteria surrounding you that you can’t imagine. Most public bathrooms have some killer type of bacteria that you can catch easily. People are gross. Most business’ public restrooms are absolutely gross.
August 9, 2012 at 4:48 pm #765802
365StairsParticipantIts a stretch to relate this…but…in some sound bites from the Olympics…the two main swimming athletes Lochte and Phelps were trading barbs with each other with many reporters talking about who pees in the pool…at least one of them admitted to it regularly…
KOMO radio guy puts out public request to kids and parents…(paraphrasing) Just because Michael Phelps pees in the pool…its NOT ok!
With all that gold..you think he could buy a little porta potty to go next to the pool…Ha!

SarahScootParticipantUh, restrooms in businesses are not “public,” guys. That’s all I’ll say in this thread, because my full thoughts on the matter would probably piss people off.
August 9, 2012 at 5:55 pm #765806
365StairsParticipantUrine the right place SarahScoot!
August 9, 2012 at 6:13 pm #765807
JoBParticipantgreat pun 365stairs…
jiggers.. i am NOT impressed that you would rather take a whizz in the park than in a restroom.
my dogs eat that grass.
carry sanitary wipes if you fear contagion.
