anonymeParticipantApparently Metro has unilaterally decided to route all #21 bus traffic up SW 102nd St. instead of SW 100th for an indeterminate period. No advance notice, of course. In the last 45 minutes, 5 buses have ripped around the corner, pulled over outside my house – engines roaring – to dump off passengers where there is NO bus stop. To make this even worse, SW 102nd St. is Local Access Only, weight restricted (no trucks over 5T). The horrible cuts to service were bad enough, but this is another insult to AH residents on 102nd and also 37th, which is where they appear to be turning. It probably won’t do any good – Metro has a poor record when it comes to listening – but complain to this guy if you want this changed:

JEMParticipantI received a text about this detour – it is supposed to be just for 3 days (Wed-Fri)although I can’t tell why. They said it was related to construction but I have seen nothing going on between 35th & 37th on 100th. The work going on is on 35th and hasn’t even really kicked in yet!

anonymeParticipantJEM, you’re right – which is why it makes even less sense. There is nothing going on at the corner of 35th & 100th, nor should 100th be affected at any time. All other traffic is turning there, without obstruction. Just another example of overpaid Metro managers making arbitrary decisions without a clue as to what is actually going on including street restrictions. They just point a stubby finger at a map.
The Operations Mgr. (info above) emailed me this morning and told me that the re-route had been changed to 98th, but the #21 is still turning on 102nd. If they can’t properly communicate this one little piece of information, can you imagine what next week will be like?
