Hi, I think I have to get my brakes serviced. Where do you go and how much should I expect to pay?

Be careful about Les Schwab. I love their tires and batteries but you will likely find brake prices more affordable at your local dealer or your independent car repair shop.

    .

The reason for the caution is that Les Schwab will replace EVERYTHING with NEW parts in order for them to offer you a lifetime warranty.

    .

Case in point – the last time I needed brakes I got a quote from Les Schwab, and then went to a dealer for a 2nd quote. The DEALER (Burien Toyota) offered the same brake repair for ONE HALF the price that Les Schwab wanted because they (the dealer) does not replace all brake parts, ONLY the parts that NEED to be replaced, but the repair will be just as good, and just as safe!

I was thinking of calling both Alki auto repair and West Seattle Autoworks as both of them have coupons for 50.00 off brake repairs.
