It’s official. I’m unemployed and broke. Anyone know anyplace that buys books for cash? They’re about the only thing I have that I can sell.

BLMF in the Market, and Arundel Books. Or, put them on amazon. You will make more in the long run.

Pegasus books in the junction buys books. Normally I just trade for credit, but once I sold some rare books for cash. They are reasonable and fair.

If you have access to a computer, you can check out the values of your books on Amazon and ebay and see if they are worth selling there. It’s a little work, but might get you more $. Book stores don’t give you a lot of $ and I bet in the current economy many are just giving credit. You might even try to find out about how much the particular editions are and there are probably book buyers on Craigslist.

elgrego…you’re unemployed – and I’m sorry to hear that – so while you’re here, maybe you could let us know what type of work that you do…there are a lot of people out here who read but never post…and some have connections, maybe…so you never know what might come up…

just trying to be helpful :) (unless of course you like being unemployed and broke…hehehe)

sorry, elegro. can you list some of your books? I am a book worm. Also, check out Third Place Books in Ravenna. they were the most reasonable place I have ever sold at. It’s actually the only place I miss in North Seattle.

Be sure to check for valuable/first editions. We put all our books in Readerware a few years ago and were surprised what showed up as valuable. (First paperback edition of “Candy” in fair shape – $25).

I will peruse and buy from any new or used bookstore, but I just don’t sell any more at Half-price. For me, credit or cash, was way too low – even for the few excellent condition, current hardback titles I’ve sold.
