john mooreMemberGod Bless you though for trying to look out for critters! Believe it or not when I get my act together morally I hope to have the self-control to become a vegetarian too. That’s where my hearts at when my belly’s not so greedy!

john mooreMemberJust had a great Burger and Fries at Circa! Better than my Zippy’s. I put a review under “Restaurants”. You’re 2 for 2 Lazybeard!

CindertangParticipantLuna Park only uses fresh burger meat never ever frozen. They never squeeze the juice out to make it cook faster, Uhmmm good. Double patties yum, love love love em.

anonymeParticipantJohn, have you tried the sweet potato fries with garlic mayo at Zippy’s? Yum.
I’d say Zippy’s is my favorite, but if you want a more comfortable dining experience, Elliot Bay has very good burgers. They used to have a ‘Buffalo Bleu’ that was a favorite of mine.

CostanzaParticipantThe Swinery has amazing burgers at their grill. I also really like the burgers at Shadowland, Copper Coin, and Highstrike Grill

mbananaParticipantI really like Copper Coin’s B&B burger, it has a bacon/caramelized onion topping that is delicious, the meat tastes beefy and wonderful and the fries have been consistently hot and crispy. My husband usually gets their regular burger and really likes it as well. I think they have a beer and burger deal on Tuesdays as well.

CostanzaParticipantI like the burgers at Elliott Bay as well. They used to offer buffalo burgers, but it wasn’t an option on the menu the last time I was there. Does anyone know if it’s gone for good, or plan to come back?

WSN_HelenMemberBless you, George, for resurrecting this thread and reminding me of why I am going to stop by Zippy’s tonight.

biankatParticipantjohn moore, great recap. Glad you gave zips another try. I agree, the fries aren’t the best. I usually get the rings, and my man gets the tots. I started with the No11 back in the day and never looked back. If you’re up for venturing a little more south, Loretta’s in South Park is another fave of ours. The burgers are simple, delish, and cheap! They also have chili fries….and full bar and beers. The best part is the patio in the back with the airstream. Maybe give it a try?

john mooreMemberThis is like “Welcome Back Kotter!”. God Bless you guys for these tips!
I know we’re all broke. We can’t afford to go out.
If you CAN, make an investment in the US economy.
Give yourself the SELFCARE that we all need.
The restaurant you’ve been tempted by today is the family business owner (and family) that will go under tomorrow…
Don’t go to the mall…
Don’t buy stupid gifts your loved ones really don’t want or need…
Take ’em out for a walk in beautiful West Seattle for a real treat of an experience. You could throw a dart blindfolded and hit a great place to eat. We’re the luckiest people in the world.

trueblueMemberOur 3 favorite places for burgers in West Seattle are The Swinery, Jaks and Endolyne Joes. Although Endolyne’s is a little farther south, it’s well worth it for their wonderful burger with bacon. Their prices are reasonable, they cook it right (I’m a medium rare fan and my guy likes them medium well and we are both always happy) and they use quality meat. We would highly recommend a trip to any of these places.

villagegreenMemberI second the B&B at Copper Coin. just had it the other night and it is freakin’ awesome. and only 10 bucks with a huge plate of fries. I wasn’t that impressed when they first opened but it seems they’ve really upped their game.

HalynParticipantAnother vote for Zippy’s and another vote for Circa. I think Circa is probably the best burger in West Seattle, (I know their biscuits and gravy is the best in town!) and I would put Zippy’s as a very, very close second–very nearly a tie. When I feel like going out for a burger, I pick Circa. When I feel like grabbing a burger to go and eating at home, I choose Zippy’s.
