ChancerMemberGreetings,
I searched and found some related, older topics but I am hoping that as we are fast approaching summer, there will be some discussion here.
I am interested in playing pickup beach volleyball over the summer. Does anyone have some info or tips as to where/when it is best to find a friendly match?
Male/Female, old/young, I don’t care who I’ll be playing with, I would just like to play.
Thanks in advance and bring on the sunshine.

CaitParticipantChancer – I’ve been meaning to ask the same question! I haven’t played in years but it looks like fun.

ChancerMemberGuess it’s just us, then. Suppose I’ll show up on a sunny Saturday (hopefully soon) and see what I can find.

alki_2008ParticipantYou could try here: http://www.sandboxsports.net/alkifridays.html
Or even here (although this is more competitive):

There’s also a volleyball supply store on Alki (next to the smoothie place, downstairs from the tattoo place) that might have some tips for you. I wouldn’t be surprised if they have a bulletin board to help people find players.
Or just show up on a weekend with a ball, and preferably a net. The nets are set-up by individuals, not provided by the city. There’s not a large area to have nets, so just hanging around probably works.
Have fun!

ErikParticipantOn many sunny weekends in spring and summer there will be a net set up at the poles furthest west (across from Dukes). The net and canopy are put up by a local down the street, and he’s always looking for more people to play.

ElizagraceParticipantUnderdog Sports Leagues has weeknight leagues at Alki on Monday nights and Wednesday nights starting in May. The leagues are 6 week plus playoffs.
You can sign up as an individual and they hook you up with other individuals. The action is 4 on 4 co-ed and all skill levels are welcome.

it is all 21+ because they partner with a bar after for discounts!

ChancerMemberI’ve considered Underdog for other sports in the past. The problem is I travel quite a bit for work and would like to avoid: 1. Paying for a league and missing games or 2. Be absent when a team is counting on me.
I’ll take a look again though and see if I can work it out. Thanks.
