We are looking for a fun day trip for tomorrow. . .

Few things. . . drive less then 2 hours, would like water to be part of the day and not crowds of people. . . any ideas? We are new to the area and would love to see some of the beautiful sate! Oh and two little children are part of the day!

KVI Beach on Vashon!!! It is so close and the ferry makes it very special. 25 bucks to cross with two adults but well worth the gas you will save. It is never crowded and there is a little cove for hermit crab finding if the little ones tire of the beach swimming.

Golden Gardens Park (nice beach area not far from the Ballard Locks)

A google search will show you a lot more than my post does.

Deception Pass State Park on Whidbey Island. The Coupeville Arts & Crafts Festival is this weekend and is about a half hour south of the park.

Jetty Island Park in Everett. A quick free ferry ride over, trails to roam, kids’ programs, and a sandy beach where the water actually gets pretty warm for swimming.

My all time favorite is Double Bluff beach on Whidbey Is. Large shallow sandy bay is perfect for the kiddos.
