Basketball Open Gym? (Cheap)

Hey, I’m new to West Seattle and I was looking for a place to play basketball without joining a gym, throwing $5 or so down every time to play. Maybe at a local school? Does anyone know about any place like that? Please let me know, thanks!

I’m pretty sure that all of the various community centers do open gym like that. Here is a list to find the nearest one to you and then they’ll have their individual schedules on their website.

If you are not a heathen… WS has a lot of church affiliated schools with gyms and organized leagues..

Also… the Y … I think the charge is $10 per visit…. joining is not horridly expensive and can be done month to month… also if such is the case, there is a sliding fee based on ability to pay, and they have a roster of companies that support the Y and employees get good rates.

There is a Monday night group starting up at Hiawatha Community Center, 7:30. Not playing this Monday obviously, being the 4th, but show up on the 11th. $3 per person. Older group which might or might not be a good fit with your skill level, but at the very least you’ll work up a sweat.

Thanks a lot guys, you’ve been a lot of help. I’ll check out at least the Hiawatha and maybe some of the other Community Centers.
