We’re looking into Vashon High School and wondering if we could get your opinions/experiences of ferrying over from West Seattle. All input appreciated.

    I’ve heard good things, anecdotally.

Why not move there and ferry yourself to work instead though?

My daughter has been there for four years (since 8th), and both as a parent and as a teacher here in Seattle schools, I cannot recommend it highly enough. We call it the private public school; $55 a month for a ferry pass, and I have never had any concerns: excellent education, opportunities (band, acting, sports, clubs), the administration knows the kids and vice-versa, and there is/can be that wonderful relationship between students and teachers, that “magic” that really makes kids feel connected. As my daughter has been the commuter student representative for new/interested off-island families at school, feel free to call her or me at 937.2327 or at angelescrestk at gmail dot com.
