hbrown99ParticipantWas wondering if any first time mom in the area would like to get together for a coffee, walk, etc. and chat about our experiences!! I’m in my early 30’s and can meet during the week or weekends! Email me if anyone is interested! hbrown99@hotmail.com

AnonymousInactiveI agree with velo_nut. I joined PEPS with my first child and we are still good friends with some of the people from our original group. Another group I have heard about but never joined is … MOPS … http://www.mops.org

addParticipanthbrown – have you looked into joining a PEPS group? Wonderful organization and a great way to meet new parents in your neighborhood! http://www.peps.org

DianeParticipantboth PEPS and getting together informally are good

PEPS is fantastic; we’re so fortunate to have this program in Seattle; one-on-one getting together for walks, etc, with babes is also good; hopefully hbrown99 can do both
~
I’ve been working with families with babes (on-call child care & babysitting, health/safety consulting), mostly 1st time parents, for many years; I’d say maybe 90% participate in 1st year in a PEPS group, some continue relationships for many years; there are some who do not enjoy this format, which is more organized & scheduled for specific times, than getting together less formally with another parent in the neighborhood; many times those individual relationships come out of meeting with groups of parents in PEPS
~
we are also so fortunate to have WSB with this forum in our neighborhood, to reach out and connect, so I applaud hbrown99 for reaching out, and applaud all the PEPS fans for suggestions
~
enjoy every precious moment with your babes; they grow up in flash

andreaParticipanthbrown99…my husband and I joined a PEPS group right after I had our twins last year, and I don’t know where we would be without the support of our group! we love the group interaction (ours is for twin parents), which meets every other week, but we often meet up for walks, dinners, lunch, swimming, holiday parties etc. I would suggest contacting the local PEPS admin through the links above and see if they can place you in a new group that is forming now. It will definitely be well worth it for you, your spouse/sig other if interested (my husband was against going at first but now he loves it as much or more than me!), and your baby! Good luck!!

wsmama3ParticipantI’ve got 3 boys – so you don’t want to hang out with me. :) I would also say PEPS is awesome, as is the West Seattle YMCA.

gambaruParticipantStroller Strides is also a great way to meet moms. You get to work out with your little one in the stroller with you. In the winter they meet at west seattle christian and in the summer they work out on alki— nothing better than working out everyday on the beach!
