Alki's "Chinese" house

You know the one I mean. Red and black, covered with plants and flowers, an Asian parasol-style structure on the roof. I’ve marveled at this landmark for years, but know nothing about it’s history, or what the interior looks like. Actually, there are two houses side by side, one is slightly more elaborate. Historians?

that’s the flower houses…the one on the left is a rental, one on the right is the home of the owners, a local real estate person. I’ve been inside the rental. It’s a great house, very eclectic, lots of interesting little idiosyncracies about it. The person who rents it sometimes posts pictures on here, so maybe she’ll see this and respond :)
