    Ahem!

Upon reflection, it occurs to me that quite a bit of the material I’ve posted here over the years has not exactly been . . . er . . . appropriate for this space. Therefore, starting now, I’ll be toning down the weirdness and trying to keep my comments within the parameters of what one would normally expect to find in a community forum like this one.

Meanwhile, DBP-style weirdness will continue on my personal blog, which was specially designed by a team of artists, computer programmers, and mental health professionals.

    Details to come.

Do keep us posted. Sounds like fun reading! And, if so inclined, you can send the URL to WSB so they can add it to the feed in that “blogs” tab. I’ve found some really great blogs to follow by reading through that.

Don’t go! You would be sorely missed. Loved the New Orleans clips, DBP.

Will you be inviting the Hoop & The Kootch to join you in your endeavors?

Those two guys (H & K) seem to have fallen off the planet. They certainly made the Blog a more interesting place, but they also created some rancor. As have I.

I know this issue has been a headache for Tracy and Patrick, and I sympathize. The problem is: How to keep the forum section lively enough so that people want to hang out here, while keeping it friendly enough so that it doesn’t scare people off.

Anyway, that’s why I wanted to start my own blog . . . so I can continue participating here, but at the same time have a separate space for posts that some might consider offensive or that just don’t fit in with the community bulletin board theme of this place.

I only wish H & K had a similar option. In a way, I think those guys just needed someone to talk to . . .

Great News DBP. You are amoung the 2 – 3 people here who bring up interesting topics…most of which get booted off due to the “gang” who really control this blog. One particular woman whines until a subject she disagrees with is deleted. This blog has devolved into sub 80- IQ land. Please post your blog info. The rest of WSB is spectacular and a brilliant service to our community! Too bad about the “topic police gang” here.

    Well said Tesla.

    Thanks DBP!

now I’m curious..topic police gang? seriously? I think the people who control the content is the editors. Period. If your feathers have been ruffled , I’m sorry. But..instead of making it personal and accusatory, simply state your position in a thread, and be nice about it. We all knew from the beginning this isn’t a free for all. I had a post removed last night, and I understand why.

But there isn’t a “gang” on here out to get you. Paranoia much?

I just noticed….sub-80 IQ land? seriously? Tesla? why do you even bother if we’re so below you? Yes, I made it personal. You seem to have a knack for being less than…ummm…nice…just an observation…

    sorry, TR

A blog sounds right up your alley, DPB (although I hope not at the expense of your not posting here often). I think you’ll have one that could actually turn out to be quite popular beyond just WS. I’ll certainly read it. I tend to not comment on your threads because your topics require more time and thought than I have to spare, and I don’t want to just do one-liners and then bolt, and it’s been pointed out to me twice now that responding a week after a previous post is breaking some unwritten rule.

Not sure what DPB starting a blog has to do with H & K. Miss’m much? I mean, if I ever saw a bully mentality online, those two + a few trying to debate with everyone else was a prime example, as proven by a couple of mild digs right here in this thread and they’re not even around. Definitely a super-80 BQ …

I don’t read this forum very often, but do have to say that when I do I’m a big DBP fan so look forward to an uncensored forum for your off-the-wall humor and intelligent perspectives! I also have to say that I sorta enjoyed the H & K perspectives–they were definitely the “other voice” which contributed to some lively discussions! I hope DBP will bring them back!

singular name…you nailed it..bullying. Having said that, I think that DBP will have some constraints lifted, and will fly with his blog. Betting that it’s a lot more than political…there is more to life than just that :)

I don’t mind online “bullies”. So long as there is substance behind their words, they can be as rancorous as they feel they need to be. The world is a messy place where people do unsavory things on a regular basis. Why should the online world be sanitized beyond that?

My only need for censorship online (in blog-land) is if someone is trying to derail the conversation beyond reason. What is beyond reason? I don’t know, but then again I don’t run a blog. Hopefully Mr. DBP…or DP, or whatever your name is, does see these things with some clarity.

I look forward to your contribution to the inter-webs.

I once had my personal blog linked to my profile here… until someone took offense to something I said and called Animal control on me. Apparently they saw a picture of my youngest boxer and thought she looked too skinny.

She was skinny, because she had an intestinal infection!

That lead to further investigation into my other dog who had a limp (she was a 14 year old boxer) and they told me to take her into the vet or they would take her away. This all cascaded into hundreds of dollars for me and my family while I was laid off from work.

    Quickly unlinked it.

    A$$holes.
