1. At least they’re speaking English.
2. It’s something to fill out the awkward silence while the tech support person searches and searches and searches and searches for the answer (often incorrect) to your problem.
3. It’s better to hear a human voice than gawdawful on-hold Muzak.
4. The boss is listening in, and if the poor tech support person doesn’t ask, they’ll be hell to pay!
