I’m glad you have coverage JanS. You paid into medicare and now medicare is taking care of you. That’s the way it is supposed to work.
I’m extra fortunate because my spouse is a federal employee. So when she reaches her full retirement age (well before age 65) then she and I will both get medical coverage paid by the gov’t. With medical insurance (mostly) taken care of, we just need to save enough money for housing/food/recreation/etc. We are in an extremely fortunate minority.
