No, NewRes, I believe that *you* believe you are the victim of racism. That doesn’t mean I believe that you actually *are* the victim of racism.
First off, if it were bad enough, I reckon you would quit. I certainly would. (And I don’t deny that some people of color have stereotypes of white people that some white people might find offensive. It doesn’t follow, however, that great harm comes from those.)
Second, are you familiar with the Pygmailion effect? How if we anticipate that someone will behave a certain way, we unconsciously can provoke that behavior in them (or interpret their behavior as conforming to our stereotype?)
