I think a great deal of what you and I are feeling and the anxiety that most West Seattle residents are dealing with comes from the electronic age and it’s instant feeding of info to us.
Back in the day, you would never hear about a car break in, grafiti, or someone stealing signs. You might read a little blurb in the local paper a week later or through word of mouth from neighbors who live in the general area.
Now days, you can log on, and read about someone in Admiral getting a window broken out, somebody in Westwood getting a shovel taken, or dogs loose at the beach. It gets a little overwhelming and it sure gets me stressed (ask my wife) but this is also a tool for helping ourselves and our neighbors, and being more aware of what is going on and how to keep an eye out for each other.
