President Bush had too many Executive Orders. But, was he circumventing congress? I have to check. Probably on some levels too. Quantity may not matter as much as Quality but either way both he and the current President have been legislating on their own too much.
It doesn’t matter whether or not Republicans or Democrats “come to work” as you put it regarding legislating. You are so blinded by your ideology you do not see the harm that the Executive Branch is causing.
The power of the purse and laws are the responsibility of the Congress.
President Obama cannot legally ignore laws he doesn’t like nor change laws unilaterally to suit his ideology.
This excerpt from George Washington Law University Professor Jonathan Turley highlights exactly what I am talking about. Turley is definitely NOT a conservative. He even wants some of what Obama is pushing but he wants it done constitutionally.
This is not about Dem or Rep. This is about us. The citizen. There is a process and it is not being followed. If you truly understand the constitution is for protecting you and I you will admit what President Obama and President Bush have done is verging on dangerous.
For example. What happens if some President in the future decides abortion of any kind is illegal? And if some woman was found “breaking the law” by having an abortion she could be thrown in jail because she “broke the law”
This is a very slippery slope. No matter how divided the congress is, their job is to work, compromise or not compromise and pass or not pass bills.
Dobro. Actually the House keeps passing bills and sending them to the Senate where they get killed by Herr Reid. So who is obstructing? Why won’t the Senate do their job?
Considering Paul Ryan and Patty Murray worked together on the budget and it passed, what obstruction is happening? Considering the Republicans said they were not going to fight raising the debt ceiling this time (10 Trillion more since Obama took over) who is obstructing?
Obviously you keep promoting stereotypes when I am trying to warn all of you that tyranny from a strong central government is encroaching on every single part of our lives. Except for the internet right now, where doesn’t the government have a say in our lives? HMMM?
So, what isn’t taxed? Anything we generally touch, taste, or feel has the sticky fingers of government involved. I am not against government, but I am more for your Liberty.
