Hmmmm I went there last night with my husband, and was just so underwhelmed in a variety of ways. On the plus side, our server was very nice, we liked the atmosphere, and they carry those fab Georgetown beers (yummy manny’s). On the downside, although the place was not very busy, we were told we could not have a booth unless we reserved one. We sat at our tiny table and noticed throughout our dinner that there were always booths open. I could not help but wonder what about our appearance made us not worthy of a booth? The food was pretty good but not great. My rib eye, $41 incl tax/tip was undercooked and tough as rubber. After trying to saw through it with my table knife, I asked for a steak knife and was told they don’t have any. How can you sell $40 steaks and not have steak knives? I guess the final insult was that even though my hsuband made it clear to both the hostess and our server that it was my birthday, there was no cup of ice cream with two spoons at the end, or any recognition at all. I have never had this happen at any birhtday dinner I have attended at a restaurant before. Ever! Especially one as expensive as this. Since se chose it based on WSB reader input, I felt compelled to offer this viewpoint so WSB’ers think twice before spending their valuble time and money here. I am excited to try Ama Ama, Shadowland, and the Bohemian next.
