Sorry about that, I obviously posted it incorrectly.
Don’t sell yourself short Francis, the lack of a college education is no excuse for acceptance of ignorance.
Essentially the article reports polling that shows self-identified moderates and conservatives in our country are actually more closely aligned with progressive policies than many of them realize, but that they have received the message from their leadership that we liberals are adversaries and ideological opposites, which simply is not true, but the power elite realize they won’t be able to control us if we view our neighbors as fellows with nuanced differences in politics. Better for their power if they convince us we aren’t, in fact, of very similar character with the same goals for our families.
The facts are, neither you or I as individuals can do much to improve the lives of those around us in our community, but when we team up and create a government we can do quite a bit of good for ourselves and others. The middle- and under-classes are the people who put most of the work and tax-dollars into our country to “create a more perfect Union.” To deprive ourselves the services we require of our government is damaging to ourselves, our fellow citizens and our community.
I guarantee all day long, you and I have MUCH more in common than you do with the Koch brothers, Dick Armey, Richard Mellon-Scaife, et al, and aligning ourselves with the interests of the very, very wealthy is detrimental to our community and our Nation as a whole. They don’t need our help to maintain their wealth.

The mantra of the wealthy power-elite in our World is “divide and conquer.” So far, they are succeeding.
