Actually, I AM representative of the people that go to Alki. Look at the traffic after the fireworks and think about how many people those cars hold. If all of those people, or even the majority of them, misbehaved it would be a riot out there.
The majority of people that go park legally (yes, we drive in circles and clog up the streets, but they are public streets), we sit and enjoy the fireworks, we pick up our trash and we leave.
The majority of the people there DO NOT wreck peoples’ yards, they do not shoot off fireworks, they are not drunk and rowdy. SOME of them are – not MOST of them.
Didn’t we just have a big fuss about beach fires? Don’t take them away from us, most of us behave, just punish the people who don’t behave.
We have laws in place, I would prefer to see them enforced.
