a ‘fundraiser’ is different than tithing in that it’s voluntary, altho there is usually a lot of armtwisting involved to ensure a good turnout.
The Mormon Church has historically been a closed book, almost a secret society like Odd Fellows. I have some respect for the self-reliance aspect of their beliefs but I personally dislike the level of obedience that is required by LDS. My biggest question about Willard is what comes first, church (not god but LDS) or country? In the unlikely event Willard is elected, I would be concerned about appointees and presidential orders which don’t require Congressional approval. Same conversation that took place about JFK being Catholic.
and who says the non-faith community doesn’t do as much? we just don’t have an organization that puts up a banner and advertises.
