I want to point out that when a top tax rate of 90% was in place, the best economic times of my life were occurring, certainly the best for me.
Now, that may be because, for most of those years, I was still living with my parents. However, my Electrician father made a good enough living to allow my mother to stay-at-home to work at home raising their three kids. They put them through college, too.
That scenario is such a distant memory, most people don’t realize that it was hardly noteworthy during the fifties and sixties.
Lowering the top tax rate has consistently served to hasten the ruin of this country, IMHO.
