I was a crossing guard 30 years ago, so it’s been going on a long, long ;) time. While I remember the budgets were slashed several years ago, I think they TRY to place adults on the busiest streets, like California. 59th is much smaller, with several speed bumps, so it ought to be doable with 5th graders. I think Pam had the right advice and that the school would like to get feedback. Probably just a little refresher needed for the kids. That street is extremely busy in the mornings though and if I lived there, I’d take whatever route I could to avoid it!
