I was a college sophomore in 1970 when I had the opportunity to work with Sid Caesar in a production of Oliver at the St Louis Forest Park amphitheater, now called The Muny. I was on a college drill team and the production company brought the whole lot of us in to serve as the “British marching army.” Performed every night for a week. What a gas…
What I remember about Mr. Caesar was how engaging he was. He was interested in us, not pretentious in any way. And he was so kind as he suggested how we could improve our performance for the crowd. He was a magnanimous teacher, and hilarious.
