Fundraiser for pets affected by Colorado fires @ Beveridge Place Pub
Jul 3 @ 6:00 pm – 9:00 pm

Join us this Tuesday, July 3rd from 6-9pm for a special fundraising effort for the four-legged victims of the Colorado fires, featuring the only keg of Churchkey Pilsner served outside the brewery! Two Beer Brewing graciously donated the keg, and we’ll donate 100% of the proceeds to Larimer Humane Society in the Fort Collins area. In addition, you’ll have an opportunity to win tickets to next weekend’s Seattle International Beerfest!

The fires in Colorado are impacting many lives, both human and animal. Some folks have had to evacuate entire farms, and groups like the Larimer Humane Society have been stretched to their limit in trying to assist. Help us help them – simply by drinking good beer!

Tag/chip your pet with Furry Faces at Lien open house @ Lien Animal Clinic
Sep 22 @ 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm

Visit Lien Animals Clinic‘s Open House this coming Saturday, September 22nd from 1:00-4:00 pm. Per clinic owner Dr. Tim Kraabel “You’ll get a behind the scenes look at Veterinary Medicine, a chance to tour our facility, plus watch demos on Laser Therapy, Dentistry, Laser Surgery and Ultrasound. If you have a child that is interested in Veterinary Medicine, this is an excellent opportunity for them to learn more.” There will be activities galore, including a teddy bear clinic; you can dress up like a Vet; photo your pet! Think you’ll get tired from all these activities? No worries, we will have complimentary food, prizes and giveaways to keep you going.’

“Plus, in partnership with Furry Faces Foundation, we will be offering HomeAgain Microchips and a pet ID tag, at just $25.00 for the first 25 guests,’ states Dr. Elizabeth Fritzler, Owner, Lien Animal Clinic, ‘It’s heartbreaking to have a pet go missing. However, by following this two prong approach, the chance of your pet being returned to you increases by as much as 20 times. So if you have been thinking of microchipping your pet, get here early for this great price!”

Special guest Furry Faces Foundation will be showcasing their ‘Tag Your Pet–It Ain’t Graffiti’ program. The first 25 guests that need their pets chipped and need a tag will get both for the great price of $25.00. “Of course, once those 25 are gone, we will still be making ‘n’ selling tags, and Lien will still be offering microchips…all at regular price,” per F3’s Teri Ensley.

Washington State Animal Response Team Fundraiser @ Beveridge Place Pub
Aug 27 @ 7:00 pm – 10:00 pm

Engine House #9 Brewer’s Night & Fundraiser for Washington State Animal Response Team!

Drink great beers for a great cause! We scheduled this brewer’s night with Engine House #9 several weeks ago with an amazing line-up of Belgian-style brews in mind. The proliferation of wildfires throughout the state prompted us to combine BPP’s two passions — enjoying awesome beer and helping animals!

We’ll have 9 beers on from E9 (see what we did there?), including all four releases of their Ferme Agrume Farmhouse series, plus award winning beers like Golden Berry Wild, Tacoma Wild, and Nefelibata Flanders Red! In addition to donating $1 per glass of E9 brews, we’ll be raffling off some cool glassware and t-shirts from numerous breweries! These funds will be donated to Washington State Animal Response Team.

The Washington State Animal Response Team is a 100% volunteer organization that assists in rescuing domestic animals in emergency situations. They have opened an emergency companion animal shelter in the Okanagan to help people who needed to evacuate their homes take care of themselves by taking care of their animals for them.

Remember Me Thursday candle-lighting ceremony @ Hotwire Online Coffeehouse
Sep 24 @ 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm

Furry Faces Foundation is uniting with animal-lovers and animal welfare organizations from around the world to participate in a candle-lighting ceremony for the 3rd annual Remember Me Thursday®. The candles, which will be lit on the exact same day across the world, will honor the millions of pets who lost their lives without the benefit of a loving home. By uniting in this way, on one very special day, the worldwide awareness campaign shines a light on the millions of pets still awaiting adoption and encourages communities to opt to adopt and reduce the millions of orphan pets euthanized each year. Furry Faces Foundation invites our Greater West Seattle community to the Remember Me Thursday candle-lighting ceremony, Thursday, September 24th, 2015 at 7 pm, taking place at Hotwire Online Coffeehouse (WSB sponsor).

Be a part of the movement at this very special Remember Me Thursday® candle-lighting ceremony. We will start the evening at 6:00 pm for those that would like to come out to meet the rescue groups and add some glitter to their candles. We will also have some candles available for purchasing, glittering and lighting. At 7:00 pm we will gather for the lighting ceremony which will include opening remarks by a very special community member, a video, reading of the Remember Me Poem and then the lighting of the candles which will be placed on the hugely drawn word ‘Adopt’ so we can shine a light on all of the deserving, loving animals that need homes.

“Only 30% of pets in US households come from rescue facilities and animal welfare organizations. The rest come from pet stores, puppy mills, strays and non-reputable breeders,” says Teri Ensley, Furry Faces Foundation President. “Millions of beautiful orphan pets die every year without the benefit of a loving home, simply because the public is not aware of how truly amazing these animals are.”

“Our local and national rescue groups see so many wonderful pets that are simply abandoned because their owners had to move or didn’t understand the time and care that a pet requires,” says Linda Turner, Furry Faces Foundation Secretary. “These pets can be purebred, well-behaved, loving animals but they don’t get a second chance because there is so little awareness of the types of animals available at local rescue facilities. Together, we can educate people about these magnificent animals.”

Furry Faces Foundation is located in West Seattle. For more information about how we keep pets and people together, (and out of shelters and/or rescue groups), please see www.furryfacesfoundation.org, FB www.facebook.com/furryfacesfoundation, or contact us at furryfaces@hotmail.com. Stay tuned for more announcements and updates.

Catio Tour Seattle
May 21 @ 12:00 pm – 4:00 pm

Two West Seattle locations are part of this year’s Catio Tour:

After a successful debut tour in 2015, Catio Tour Seattle is back. On Saturday, May 21, 2016 (noon-4 pm) more cat-loving communities will showcase their inspiring backyard transformations, which help keep their feline friends safe and their neighborhoods a haven for wildlife.

Catios are enclosed patios for cats – a space where they can enjoy the sights and smells of the great outdoors, and stay protected from busy roads and wild predators.

Window box or freestanding, DIY or custom design, catios are a growing trend in the US – popular not only for the safe enrichment they offer their feline residents but for the added protection they provide for birds and wildlife.

From Bothell to West Seattle, this year’s tour features 11 catios of all shapes and sizes. Tour participants can choose to visit some or all of the locations, and along the way they’ll have the opportunity to talk to catio owners as well as meet the lucky felines who enjoy these safe outdoor spaces. The event is sponsored by PAWS, Catio Spaces and The Humane Society of the United States.

There is a suggested donation of $10 to help support education programs at PAWS. All additional proceeds from this fun event benefit animals in need at PAWS.

A tour map, addresses and catio information will be provided to all registered participants prior to the event.

Melissa Moore, education manager at PAWS, says “We’re thrilled to be back with this fun event. Unleash your dog’s inner super model at the 12th annual CityDog Cover Dog Model Search. That’s right, we’re looking for our next dog to grace the cover of CityDog Magazine and raising money for animals while we’re at it.

South Park Hall hosts benefit for Forgotten Dogs Rescue
Apr 13 @ 7:00 pm

Forgotten Dogs Rescue is having a FUNdraiser at South Park Hall 4/13/2018 at 7 pm

It’s a variety show hosted by the Famous Filson Sisters of Vashon Island.

About Forgotten Dogs Rescue! We are a registered non-profit and we focus on rescuing Pit Bulls out of Washington State shelters. We pull dogs, primarily, from the Yakima Humane Society as there is a Pit Bull ban in Yakima so a bunch of great dogs end up in the shelter there and have a tough time being adopted.

We are a foster-based rescue, meaning all of our dogs go into foster homes. We work with them to become better dogs under our care including covering all medical needs. Events like this one help us raise the funds to help some of the dogs that end up in the shelter badly hurt. The Humane Society knows that we will do what it takes to mend the most broken dogs so they, often, will call us to help one in need.

We pull an average of about 100 dogs a year out of the shelters (with some owner surrenders as well). We can do more with more resources and more people involved! So, thank you!!!

Check the Chip @ Lien Animal Clinic
Jun 3 @ 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm

The care team at Lien Animal Clinic is reminding all pet owners in West Seattle that on Sunday, June 3rd they will be hosting a Check the Chip Event, where pet owners are encouraged to check and update the contact information registered with their pet’s microchip or have one inserted into a pet that is not yet protected. Lien Animal Clinic is hosting this event in an effort to ensure more happy endings for lost or stolen pets. This year, with support from HomeAgain, there’s a video reinforcing the importance of registering pet microchips and keeping that information up to date.

“We love stories of pets and their families being reunited after they have been missing for sometimes just a short while or in some cases days,” said Daphney, a team member at Lien. These stories would not have a happy ending, if these pets were never microchipped or if the microchip contained inaccurate or out-of-date information.

Microchips greatly increase the chances that you’ll get your pets back if they become lost or stolen, but a microchip only works if its registration information is accurate.

Our team will be available on Sunday, June 3rd from 2-4 pm:

· Check your pets chip and enrollment status tell the owner what information is contained on the microchip; and

· Microchip pets who are without

· Provide tours of the practice

We will have pizza, beverages and raffle prizes! It’ll be a woofin’ good time, you won’t want to hiss it!

To learn more about microchips and our Check the Chip Event, call us at 206-932-1133 or visit the Home Again website at www.homeagain.com/microchipping.html

P.S. If you would like to volunteer for a 3 – hour shift during this event, shoot us an email at furryfaces@hotmail.com.
