Art Under $100 2019 @ Seattle Design Center
Nov 30 @ 1:00 pm – 8:00 pm

It started small in 2004 with just three artists and a garage party in South Park. Today, 15 years later, Art Under $100 has evolved into the holiday party of the season with amazing, accessible art still at its very core. And this particular Art Under $100 takes on a bittersweet significance. AU100 2019 will be the last one, so carve out Saturday, November 30th on your calendar: not to be missed.

It’s a big finale, so wear your finest and funnest outfits and spend the day with us. You’ll be blown away by paintings, sculpture, glass art, metalwork, ceramics, textiles, and so much more. You’ll see the neighbors you miss all year, buy treasures you can’t find elsewhere, support 70 local artists, reminisce, imbibe, create, and connect. You might even dance.

Australia bushfire fundraiser @ Arthur’s
Jan 25 all-day

As we are an Australian influenced establishment (named after my Australian father Arthur!) we really wanted to take some action concerning the bushfires that have devastated Arthur’s homeland. On Saturday, January 25th we will be pledging 10% of sales from the entire day to a non-profit in Australia that supports and rehabilitates wildlife, particularly now with those affected by the fires.

Additionally, it happens to be Australia day on the 26th (technically on the same day as Aus is 17 or so hours ahead of us…) so we’re hosting our annual Australia Day wine dinner. Proceeds from this will as well be donated and seats are still available.

Lastly, if folks would like to donate directly we’ll gather any donations to add to the total we’re looking to raise.

Benefit cider sales @ South Lincoln Park/Fauntleroy ferry line
Feb 28 @ 4:00 pm – 5:30 pm

To raise money and support Immigrant Families Together, students and parents from the Taproot School have been selling lemonade (summer) and Hot Cider (by donation) to ferry travelers and park goers since school began in September. They gather in front of the southern Lincoln Park parking lot, with mobile sellers to catch those in line. All proceeds go to Immigrant Families Together and all supplies have been donated or created by the students and families.

So far this year, the Taproot school sold lemonade for the cause, raising $1,000 from generous West Seattle/Vashon/Southworth travellers in August and $546 from Hot Cider in October. There was a smaller crew in December who raised over $100 during the holiday break. Our enthusiasm continues as we have now organized for a regular series of Hot Cider/Lemonade sales to keep this incredible organization and cause top of mind. We are hoping the warm cider and excited kids will continue to raise awareness, spirits and funds and encourage people to turn out to support the school’s efforts.

Who: Taproot School Students & Families
What: Hot Cider Stand (mobile and stationary) – (Lemonade in warmer months)
Where: Based out of the South Lincoln Park Parking Lot
When:
Friday, January 24
Friday, February 28
Friday, March 28
Friday, April 24
Friday, May 23
Friday, June 27
Why: To raise funds to donate to Immigrant Families Together
Call to Action: We encourage West Seattle/Vashon/Southworth ferry travelers and Lincoln Park goers to support out students in raising money for Immigrant Families Together.

Immigrant Families Together is a volunteer-run, not-for-profit organization working to keep families together by providing bond money for parents, legal services, safe housing, clothing, food, cellphones among other vital services to help families have the best possible chance at receiving asylum. For more information about how to help immigrant families stay together or to donate directly, please go (here).

The evening will include drinks, food, a live DJ/music, programming including a live auction of select and exclusive items, and ample opportunity to learn more about this local non-profit that has been serving our community for 20 years! Benefit cider sales @ South Lincoln Park/Fauntleroy ferry line
Mar 27 @ 4:00 pm – 5:30 pm
