Artist as Storyteller Speaker Series: A Conversation With Butylene & One

Date: Tuesday, March 9, 2021

Time: 1-2 p.m.

Virtual Link (Zoom): https://us02web.zoom.us/j/88355535044
Website: artistasstoryteller.com

The Artist as Storyteller Speaker Series, supported by the Seattle Colleges Performing Arts Fund, welcomes BIPOC artists, performers, and activists to share their work and connect with students and community members about what it means to be an artist in today’s social and cultural climate. The series emphasizes the artmaking and storytelling process as it relates to the individual and community.

In this conversation, we’ll chat with Butylene and One about their work as Seattle-based Latinx drag performers, how the pandemic has impacted their ability to perform, and how drag is a form of transgressive joy, resilience, community-making, and medicine.

This conversation is the first in a series of six speaking events. For more information and to view a complete list of upcoming speakers, visit us at artistasstoryteller.com.
