Come drink beer and raise money for Resilient Hearts Animal Sanctuary! We’ll be at Ounces in West Seattle, and we’d love our friends and family to come celebrate the beginning of our new animal rescue!
This is your chance to find out more about our rescue, meet our FIRST rescue pups, and join in the raffle for a chance at naming them! Come down and pay a visit for some puppy love!
Ounces will donate $1 of every pint sold of whichever keg they tap for us! We’ll also have raffle tickets for sale for your chance to win a variety of pet related products!
Resilient Hearts Animal Sanctuary is a foster based rescue organization committed to saving animals from high kill shelters in Texas and Georgia. We are a 501(c)3 nonprofit completely funded by adoption fees and donations. If you want to give, we are set up to accept donations via paypal at: ResilientHeartsAnimalSanctuary@gmail.com
Visit our website at www.antihatealaskajunction.wordpress.com for information about hate in Seattle and in the US.
In this session, the bystander intervention workshop leader reviews brain science–including the reality of emotional responses, their effect on brain chemistry, and the resulting triggering of our fight/flight/freeze survival responses.
Participants apply new knowledge and practice new skills by running scenarios of hate-based interactions with the goals of de-escalating the situations and supporting the target. Working as an aggressor, a target, or an intervening bystander, participants learn by doing, not by listening.
The next workshop is Sunday, September 15, 2019, from 2 to 4 pm at Admiral Congregational Church, 4320 SW Hill Street, Seattle. There will also be an opportunity to have an extra practice session on Sunday, October 6.
The workshop is FREE, but donations are accepted. To register, email firstname.lastname@example.org or just walk in.
September 22 @ 9:00 am – 3:00 pm
