Riverview Playfield barrier-replacement meeting
Jun 6 @ 6:30 pm – 7:30 pm

We will be having our second meeting to discuss replacement options for the creosote treated log barrier at Riverview Playfield, Thursday, June 6th. This will be an onsite meeting starting from the north end of the park at 12th and Holly at 6:30pm.

Our first meeting produced some wonderful ideas. We are making rapid progress in identifying challenges and opportunities and soon will be providing Parks with recommendations so please let your voice be heard!

RVP Barrier Replacement Planning Meeting #2
Goal: To identify alternatives to the utility pole barriers (and new chain link fence) that reinforces/defines the boundaries of Riverview hayfields/Park in a way that keeps cars in designated car areas, enhances pedestrian safety and maintains the sense of openness and welcome that neighbors cherish
Review challenges & opportunities regarding the park boundary – did we miss anything?
Brainstorm ideas for approaches to reinforcing the boundaries of RVP – do we want to maintain any section of the new chain links fence (Parks would like an answer on this soon as they have a bid on removal of the fence posts on hand. Carol Baker informed us the fence will be removed and installed in another park)?
Discuss maintenance and other potential impacts of design alternatives
Come up with our preferred plan for barrier treatments for RVP
Where are we now and what next?

SDCG, HPAC, and Riverview Neighbor Community Groups Merger Discussion and Vote
Resolution to combine the neighborhoods of South Delridge, Highland Park and Riverview into one neighborhood council.

A request has been made to merge the neighborhoods groups east of Delridge Way in the southern section of the Delridge Corridor. We are proposing one neighborhood council for Highland Park, Riverview and South Delridge. HPAC has had representation from Riverview neighbors for the last few years and would like to formally include Riverview with this proposed merger. The neighborhood boundaries have been fluid between these three neighborhoods and neighbor leaders from South Delridge, Highland Park, and Riverview have worked together on a number of projects and issues over the last 2+ years.

SDGC to present final position, followed by open discussion of HPAC members, and then formal vote.

Free dinner every Sunday night in West Seattle!

Everyone is welcome at High Point Community Dinner!

We gather, along with our volunteers, every Sunday night to eat dinner together and hear a story about Jesus. With an informal setting that centers around the meal and conversation, everyone is welcome to come just for the meal, or to stay longer to hear the talk and have a chance to discuss with friends.

The dinner is complemented by art and music! We often have an artist doing live paintings, a kids’ art table, and live music.
