Women’s Personal Safety Course @ Seattle Police Department’s Southwest Precinct--Community Meeting Room
Mar 3 @ 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm

Learn proactive tips and step you can take to enhance your personal safety in courses taught by female Seattle Police officers and employees.

In this class, you will learn:

  • the important role your instincts and gut reactions can play
  • how to identify and avoid potentially dangerous situations
  • how to make a safety plan
  • how to decrease the odds of becoming a victim.

This class features facilitated discussions and lectures about crime and public safety. It is not a self-defense class.

This class is open to women of all ages and is most appropriate for young women who are at least 14 years of age.

This class is not appropriate for children and children should not attend.

Leadership Workshop at West Seattle Toastmasters 832 @ The Kenney

Join us for a workshop on How to Conduct Productive Meetings.

West Seattle Toastmasters member Brig Henry will lead this one-hour presentation with guided exercises to help attendees learn more about how to conduct productive meetings. This is a free event and all are welcome.

Art Opening: On the Shoulders of Women @ Vashon Center for the Arts
Mar 6 @ 6:00 pm – 9:00 pm

The Vashon Center for the Arts, an art gallery and performance hall on beautiful Vashon Island, is proud to be holding an event that celebrates Women’s History Month and honors the 100th anniversary of women gaining the right to vote. The exhibit is called On the Shoulders of Women.

It opens March 6 and remains up till March 28.

Within the larger event, the museum is also featuring three smaller exhibits:
