Work and Play Lounge is holding weekly, intentional networking gatherings
under the title “Wind Down Wednesday”. These events are held at the same location every Wednesday,
from 6 pm-8 pm at Junction Plaza Park and are paired with happy hour prices on all services leading
up to the event. According to the U.S. Census Bureau Annual Business Survey, out of the 85,592
businesses that are in Seattle only 1,065 are Black owned. Of that 1,065 only 0.4% are owned by Black
Women, putting Seattle as one of the lowest representations for a metropolitan area in the U.S. Work
and Play Lounge’s CEO, Margie Haywood, a long time Seattle local and leader, is continuing to follow her
mission by being the funnel for small businesses and serial entrepreneurs to gain traction within the

The Work and Play Lounge is one of the first women of color-owned spaces, both in Washington and
nationally. Founded by Margie Haywood, it offers: coworking, office rental, dedicated desks, meeting
rooms, mail and package handling services, notary services, business amenities, social media
management, marketing and branding kits, signage and marketing materials, a photography studio, a
podcast loft, life encouragement coaching, business and career consulting, passport photos and an on-
site kids lounge for children to quietly play while parents get some work done.
Designed for local freelancers, remote workers, work-from-home parents, independent professionals,
and small teams, Work and Play Lounge wants to bring a new vibe to the Junction Plaza Park! Let’s make
