In this 4-5 hour class students will be taught the basics of Coast Salish weaving and it’s cultural significance by fashioning a traditional ceremonial cedar basket necklace. Basket making kits are included and each students will walk away with their own handmade cedar basket necklace.

This class is taught by by Coast Salish weaver Joshua Mason. Joshua Mason is a Squaxin Island Tribe member and Coast Salish Weaver. Joshua has been teaching for over ten years and works with multiple fibers. Joshua harvests, processes, and weaves all his own fibers, including the fibers and materials students will use in this class.
