2022 Teen Summer Musical
The Teen Summer Musical has been delivering smiles by way of soulful musical theater performances for over 25 years and this year the legacy returns with a brand new original production! Written and directed by award-winning program Founder, Isiah Anderson, Jr., “The Greatest Story Ever Wove”, runs August 18-28 at the historic Langston Hughes Performing Arts Institute in the Central District of Seattle and features 30 youth (mostly African-American) from the greater Seattle area!
Story Summary – Overwhelmed by a legacy that seems to be fading, museum owner Ms. Banks desperately tries to keep traditions alive while reluctantly embracing a formidable future. A future that doesn’t seem to care about the sentimental memories of days gone by. See what happens when your fairytale favorites come to life and hilariously go in search of themselves while helping Ms. Banks (and her janitorial team of Kiki’s) rediscover what matters forever!
Under the direction of Isiah Anderson, Jr. (Seattle’s Teen Summer Musical) & Michelle Lang-Raymond (The Art of Tough Talks), this production brings awareness to the realities of urban evolution while celebrating culture that can’t be contained! This production is produced by Seattle’s only Black-owned and operated theater – Acts On Stage!
