At the Southwest Branch Library: Tears of Joy Theatre’s Snow Soup is a rendition of ‘Stone Soup’, an old French folktale in which hungry strangers convince the wary people of a town to each share a small amount of their food in order to make a meal that everyone enjoys. This story inspires the qualities of sharing, coming together as a community, and the value of looking beyond stereotypes. Tears of Joy Theatre has been performing cultural and educational stories nationwide for children and families for 47 years and believes in the beauty, power and vitality of puppetry as a unique theatrical experience for audiences of all ages. For ages 4-8.

This program is part of this year’s Summer of Learning program Explore Your World!, which encourages reading and activities around science, technology, technology, arts and math. We are offering over 250 free youth programs throughout the city this summer. You can pick up a Summer Action Guide at any Library location beginning June 24th.

Library events and programs are free and everyone is welcome. Registration is not required.
