We’ve had him scheduled twice since we’ve opened, and both times the earthquakes occurred in New Zealand (no kidding). We were afraid to reschedule, but this time Mike had the tripped planned to Seattle and had an evening free. So we jumped on the opportunity to host him. His wines are truly exceptional and unique.

Mike and Claudia purchased their farm in the Pyramid Valley, near Waikari in North Canterbury in 2000. Together they biodynamically farm their vineyards. Mike studied oenology and viticulture in Burgundy both at the Lycee Viticole in Beaune and the Universite de Bourgogne in Dijon. He honed his skills working extensively for producers throughout Europe including Hubert de Montile, Domaine de la Pousse d’Or, and Nicolas Potel in Burgundy; Jean-Michel Deiss and Marc Kreydenweiss in Alsace; and Ernst Loosen in the Mosel.
