Tibbetts United Methodist Church (WSB sponsor) is thrilled to host Claudine (Blessings) Kasongo, the first person to graduate from college after being raised in Jamaa Letu orphanage in the Congo. Blessings graduated from the University of Lubumbashi with a degree in teaching and is currently teaching Social Studies at the English Language School of Lubumbashi. She is fluent in Swahili, French and English. The orphanage is sponsored by the United Methodist Church and Tibbetts donates funds each year that are used for Emancipation Grants: providing transitional money for young adults as they leave the orphanage and go to college or pursue a career.

The gathering will be in the Parlor at Tibbetts at 10 am and breakfast will be served. We hope you will join us to hear this inspirational story of this young woman!
